Short answer:
Because changing classes after a ride has started can invalidate recorded data. RBR blocks this by design.
Once a competitor has started a ride, changing their class is only allowed if the classes use the same track (or tracks).
Class change is blocked when:
This prevents accidental loss or corruption of valid ride data.
✅ Same track, different classes
(e.g. Enduro vs Adventure on identical route)
→ You can change the class and keep the ride data.
❌ Different tracks between classes
→ Class change is blocked.
→ You must delete the recorded ride first, then change the class.
❌ Partially shared tracks
→ Blocked.
→ The system cannot safely decide which parts of the ride belong to the new class.
You do NOT need to delete the competitor.
You only need to:
After deleting the problematic ride (the one which differs between classes), the class change will work.
This conservative behavior is intentional.
