FAQ

Speed limit zones, speeding

Updated
  • The RBR app reads speed limit zones from the roadbook and tracks them based on your GPS position.
  • All speed limit zones begin with a DZ waypoint and end with an FZ waypoint.
  • The speed limit within a speed zone can be changed by another DZ waypoint with a new speed limit icon. It's possible to have multiple speed zones in a row, each with a different speed limit (DZ > DZ > FZ).
  • In the example below:
    DZ 30 -> max speed is 30 km/h
    DZ 50 -> from this waypoint on, max speed is 50 km/h until you reach the FZ waypoint
App speed warning
Speed Warning "progress bar" feature
A "speeding progress bar" will be shown, so you can see in your peripheral vision how close you are to the speed limit while riding. You can configure its size - the default is 10 km/h below the max speed limit.

App speed warning You can enable speeding warning sounds in the app settings (experimental feature for now).

Speeding penalties
According to FIM: 80.16.2 The speed of a competitor will be limited (penalized) to the maximum speed allowed between the point of entry and exit point of the zone, regardless of the route taken between these two points.
